I am tattooing at Thousand Oaks Tattoos, located at 122 E. Main St. in Springfield, Ohio.
Yes! My books are always open!
Start by filling out an Inquiry form under the Booking section, and I will reach out to you to schedule a consultation.
-Shop Minimum is $250
-Half Day (4ish hours) is $650
-Whole Day (7-8 hour) is $1,200
-Standard (Non-refundable) Deposit is usually $150 (may be subject to change), and does come off the total cost of your piece. A No call/No show forfeits your deposit, as well as cancelling without notice. Things happen and I am a very understanding person, so just get ahold of me and we can figure it out if something comes up, just communicate with me is all I ask.
-I also price by the piece sometimes, where I'll take time, difficulty, placement, etc. into account to give you a fair, competitive rate.
-I can take cash or card, but there are processing fees and sales tax associated with running a card.
Is it going to hurt?
Yes, by varying degrees, based on different pain tolerances. Pain is very subjective. I do use the best products that help to keep you comfortable during the procedure. If you are interested in numb cream, we can discuss if you are a good candidate and what products I recommend.
How do I care for my new tattoo?
What do I need to do to be ready for my appointment?
The day before your appointment: Avoid alcoholic beverages, hydrate, eat well and get good rest. The day of your appointment: Shower. Exfoliate. DO NOT PRE-SHAVE the area, I will do that prior to placing your stencil. Avoid lotions and/or any skin care products in the area you will be getting tattooed. Make sure you EAT, and continue to hydrate. Wear comfortable and appropriate clothing for the area being tattooed, and understand that if ink does get on your clothes it will stain, so dress accordingly.
My preferred aftercare is Recovery Brand Derm Shield:
I place the clear, self-adhesive, second skin bandage on you when complete your piece, and will give you a second piece to take home. Your bandage is waterproof from the outside, so shower normally, just don't scrub at it, and try to miss it with your loofah or washrag. Do not be alarmed as you see excess ink and plasma pool under the surface of the clear bandage, it will look muddy and gross, but that is what it is supposed to do. Leave the initial bandage that I put on you in place for 24 hours, and at that time remove the Derm Shield and gently wash your tattoo with non-scented, antibacterial, liquid soap (like Gold Dial) and rinse thoroughly. Let your tattoo air dry and then apply the piece of Derm Shield that I sent you home with. Leave that piece in place for another 5-7 days. When you remove your bandage at that time, your skin should be mostly healed. You will not need heavy ointments, I do not recommend any petroleum based products. Use your favorite plain white, non-scented lotion for moisture, as your skin will still be super dry and peeling, which is very itchy. Lotion as needed, helps the itching. Do not scratch.
I prefer this method of aftercare because it is easiest to follow, just leave it alone. It also prevents picking up infection causing bacteria. However, it is a medical grade adhesive and can cause allergic reactions. In that case we will stick to
Standard Aftercare, or the old school method: It is tried and true and works just as well IF FOLLOWED CORRECTLY. You're going to wash with non-scented, antibacterial liquid soap (recommend Gold Dial pump soap) 3-4 times a day for 7-10 days. After washing, air dry and put the smallest, tiny baby amount of Aquafor or Hustle Butter. Avoid over-medicating (using too much product) it will clog your pores and make your tattoo heal horribly.
As, always, if you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to get ahold of me. I am here for you.
